Dean Gordon discovered his passion for guitars at the age of fourteen and quickly became immersed in the art of building and repairing instruments. Within a year of experimenting, he crafted his first guitar and began pursuing luthiery with determination. By sixteen, Dean had apprenticed with renowned luthiers Victor Baker and Roger Sadowsky, experiences that inspired him to elevate his skills to a professional level.

At eighteen, Dean launched Dean Gordon Guitars on June 7th, 2012, while also pursuing a degree in graphic design. During this time, he served as the head repair technician at the iconic Chelsea Guitars, where he deepened his knowledge of vintage, new, and rare guitars. This role not only refined his craft but also connected him with a community that shared his passion. Notably, Dean sold his first custom guitar to Keith Urban, marking a significant milestone in his career.

Dean continues to perfect his craft with a focus on blending modern design with the familiar feel of classic instruments. His vision for Dean Gordon Guitars is to create high-quality, innovative guitars that resonate with both seasoned players and new enthusiasts alike.

Alex Malcoci

Alex Malcoci is a multidisciplinary engineering leader with extensive experience in manufacturing and product development across software, biotech, and aerospace sectors. Growing up on the same street in Astoria, Alex and Dean became close friends early on. His appreciation for instruments began when he started playing the cello before high school. Alex later earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and went on to work at SpaceX on the Dragon spacecraft, where he honed his skills in complex engineering and high-stakes manufacturing environments.

As the Founder and CEO of MiniProto, Alex focuses on improving the prototyping experience with intuitive tools for custom wire harnesses, emphasizing quality and user experience. Prior to MiniProto, Alex held leadership roles at companies like CXR.Agency and Cemtrex Advanced Technologies, where he implemented advanced manufacturing processes and drove significant operational improvements. With expertise in CAD/FEA, quality assurance, and a wide range of manufacturing techniques, Alex is committed to advancing design and manufacturing practices, making high-quality innovation accessible to all. His attention to detail and passion for craftsmanship align perfectly with the ethos of Dean Gordon Guitars, blending his engineering expertise with a shared love for precision and design.
